From beer stained floors to sold out shows, The Blackouts are building a new kind of band in this day and age - louder, messier, and more honest than the ones that came before. Six members deep, one debut album in, and they're just getting warmed up. Their sound is scrappy, high speed, and unpolished in the best way. It's distortion, sweat, VHS footage and dented gear. It's the sound of trying something not because you're good at it, but because you can't stop thinking about it.
Their debut album, For Ballard's Dad, provides the world twelve blistering, hook riddled songs reminiscent of the early 2000's rock revival. Themes from the music consist of romance, heartbreak and just about everything in between as the band drudge through their young adult lives. They flew to United Kingdom and recorded the album with producer acclaimed producer Gordon Raphael in 4 chaotic days at Eiger Studios.
